Asian stock markets are trading higher on Friday and were on track for a solid advance this week, while oil and the dollar held onto gains in the wake of strong U.S. corporate earnings.

Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 53.43 points or 0.28 percent to trade at 19,455.82. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite rose 9.61 points or 0.31 percent to trade at 3,159.17.

Singapore's Straits Times rose 7.93 points or 0.26 percent to trade at 3,059.71. South Korea's KOSPI went up 16.65 points or 0.81 percent to trade at 2,083.59. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 23.90 points or 0.25 percent to trade at 9,447.95.

On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 28.21 points or 0.12 percent to trade at 23,345.96.
