Asian stock markets settled mixed on Friday as investors digested China's underwhelming exports for December and disappointing full-year trade figures.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 152.58 points or 0.8 percent to settle at 19,287.28. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 108.36 points or 0.47 percent to end at 22,937.38. Singapore's Straits Times rose 32.07 points or 1.07 percent to end at 3,025.07.
On the other hand, China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 6.52 points or 0.21 percent to close at 3,112.76. South Korea's KOSPI lost 10.35 points or 0.5 percent to end at 2,076.79. Taiwan's TAIEX lost 31.35 points or 0.33 percent to end at 9,378.83.
