Asian stock markets settled mixed on Tuesday. Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 102.93 points or 0.53 percent to settle at 19,494.53.

South Korea's KOSPI gained 3.55 points or 0.17 percent to end at 2,041.94. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 3.09 points or 0.03 percent to end at 9,242.41.

While China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite declined 15.21 points or 0.49 percent to close at 3,102.88. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 103.62 points or 0.47 percent to end at 21,729.06. Singapore's Straits Times fell 1.77 points or 0.06 percent to end at 2,911.31.
