Asian stock markets closed mixed on Friday after the European Central Bank (ECB) trimmed the size of its asset purchase programme and also extended till end 2017.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 230.90 points or 1.23 percent to settle at 18,996.37. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite rose 17.52 points or 0.54 percent to close at 3,232.88. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 16.82 points or 0.18 percent to end at 9,392.68.
On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 100.86 points or 0.44 percent to end at 22,760.98. Singapore's Straits Times declined 2.73 points or 0.09 percent to end at 2,956.13. South Korea's KOSPI declined 6.38 points or 0.31 percent to end at 2,024.69.
