Indian rupee has appreciated against US dollar on Monday. Local currency went up 10 paise or 0.15 percent against dollar to settle at 66.93.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 66.90 and a low of 67.10. Its 52-week range was 66.07-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, declined 12.28 percent to settle at 1.00.

Local stock markets ended higher on Monday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 192.83 or 0.68% at 28,661.58 with 22 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 57.50 or 0.65% at 8,879.20 with 38 components registering rise.
