Indian rupee has weakened against US dollar on Wednesday. Local currency declined 18 paise or 0.28 percent against dollar to trade at 64.31.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.25 and a low of 64.31. Its 52-week range was 63.57-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, fell 0.02 percent to trade at 93.83.

On Monday, rupee has gained against US dollar. Local currency went up 2 paise or 0.03 percent against dollar to settle at 64.12.

Local stock markets continued to rise for the second day on Wednesday. At 9.24 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 79.39 points or 0.25% at 31,528.42 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 29.55 points or 0.30% at 9,823.70 with 28 components gaining.
