Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 4.92 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on April 26, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 53.58 billion and sold equities worth Rs 58.50 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 10.11 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 38.13 billion and sold equities worth Rs 28.02 billion.
Local stock markets ended higher on Wednesday. Both Sensex and Nifty traded at a new life time high. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 190.11 or 0.63% at 30,133.35 with 18 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 45.25 or 0.49% at 9,351.85 with 26 components registering rise.
