Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 11.50 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on April 28, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 45.56 billion and sold equities worth Rs 57.07 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 16.84 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 36.91 billion and sold equities worth Rs 20.06 billion.
Local stock markets ended lower on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 111.34 or 0.37% at 29,918.40 with 14 components registering drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 38.10 or 0.41% at 9,304.05 with 24 components posting drop.
