Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 13.75 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on July 28, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 41.93 billion and sold equities worth Rs 55.69 billion.
Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 6.65 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 23.49 billion and sold equities worth Rs 16.84 billion.
Local stock markets settled lower on Tuesday led by realty, metal and auto stocks. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 102.15 points or 0.37% at 27,459.23 with 19 components registering drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 24 points or 0.29% at 8,337 with 34 components registering drop.
