Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 2.69 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on June 23, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 48.75 billion and sold equities worth Rs 46.05 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 457.8 million. They bought equities worth Rs 25.37 billion and sold equities worth Rs 25.82 billion.
Local stock markets ended lower on Friday erasing earlier gains. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 152.53 or 0.49% at 31,138.21 with 22 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 55.05 or 0.57% at 9,574.95 with 38 components registering drop.
