European stock markets are trading lower on Monday as investors digested the potential impact that trade barriers could have on global growth.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 declined 9.89 points or 0.29 percent to trade at 3,438.52. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 lost 15.79 points or 0.21 percent to trade at 7,409.17.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 19.13 points or 0.16 percent to trade at 12,064.05. French benchmark index CAC 40 lost 16.70 points or 0.33 percent to trade at 5,012.54.
On Friday, European stock markets closed higher. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 8.45 points or 0.25 percent to settle at 3,448.41. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 gained 9.01 points or 0.12 percent to close at 7,424.96.
