Bajaj Auto quarterly earnings decline 13.44%

Bajaj Auto  disclosed a sharp drop in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2017.  During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 13.44% to Rs 8,622.50 million from Rs 9,961.70 million  in the same quarter previous year.

Revenues for the quarter declined 7.72% to Rs 55,065.70 million, compared with Rs 59,671.30 million for the prior year period.

Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 29.80, registering 13.37% decline over previous year period.

Shares of the company declined Rs 62.6, or 2.06%, to trade at  Rs 2,970.00.  The total volume of shares traded  was  44,590 at the BSE (3.21 p.m., Thursday).
