Asian stock markets settled mixed on Tuesday. Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 11.72 points or 0.06 percent to settle at 18,815.16.

While China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite plunged 73.23 points or 2.19 percent to close at 3,263.05. Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 184.66 points or 0.74 percent to end at 24,702.78.

Singapore's Straits Times went up 18.22 points or 0.54 percent to end at 3,422.11. South Korea's KOSPI went up 4.57 points or 0.23 percent to end at 2,001.38. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 4.41 points or 0.05 percent to end at 9,605.77.
