Indian equities ended higher on Monday snapping earlier losses. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 382.67 or 1.04% at 37,054.10 with 26 components posting rise. while the broad based NSE Nifty closed flat at 11,176.30.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (8.08%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (3.90%), Coal India (3.80%), Reliance Industries (2.72%), Tata Power Company (2.65%), and Tata Steel (2.51%).
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (0.41%), NTPC (0.23%), and Infosys (0.13%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,563 advances against 825 declines.
Maruti Suzuki India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 260.81 million. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (Rs. 84.84 million), BEML (Rs. 74.80 million) and Allahabad Bank (Rs. 59.51 million).
The volume chart was led by Birla Power Solutions with trades of over 12.09 million shares. It was followed by Suzlon Energy (11.42 million), Sam Leaseco (4.22 million) and Bellary Steels & Alloys (2.03 million).
