Indian markets continued to gain for the sixth day on Friday. At 9.42 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 144.04 points or 0.39% at 36,692.45 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 41.50 points or 0.38% at 11,064.70 with 25 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Wipro (3.13%), Coal India (1.77%), Reliance Industries (1.51%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.42%), Infosys (1.19%), and Larsen & Toubro (1.10%).
On the other hand, State Bank Of India (1.37%), ICICI Bank (1.08%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.05%), Cipla (0.85%), Bajaj Auto (0.77%), and Axis Bank (0.54%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 609 advances against 637 declines.
Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,571.70 million. It was followed by Reliance Industries (Rs. 152.19 million), H C L Technologies (Rs. 122.16 million) and Infosys (Rs. 115.91 million).
The volume chart was led by IDBI Bank with trades of over 1.00 million shares. It was followed by I V R C L (0.92 million), Tata Consultancy Services (0.79 million) and Reliance Communications (0.78 million).
