Indian equities ended lower on Tuesday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 294.84 or 0.78% at 37,290.67. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 98.85 or 0.87% at 11,278.90.

Major losers in the 30-share index were State Bank Of India (4.06%), Tata Motors (3.36%), Bajaj Auto (2.84%), Axis Bank (2.81) and Bharti Airtel (2.31%).

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever (3.87%), Yes Bank (1.43%), Wipro (1.02%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.93%), and ITC (0.23%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
