The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won orders worth Rs 20.48 billion across two business segments.
The power transmission & distribution business has secured EPC orders worth Rs 16.33 billion. The business has secured a major order for a Main Plant Electrical Package of units 3 & 4 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project.
Other prestigious orders have been won to build a 400/220kV Gas Insulated Substation in Andhra Pradesh Capital Region and a 230kV Gas Insulated Substation in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. 765kV and 400kV Transmission line packages have also been awarded by a leading power transmission company.
The water & effluent treatment business has won an order worth Rs 4.15 billion. An order has been secured from Tamil Nadu Water Supply & Drainage Board for ''Providing Underground Sewerage Scheme to Kurichi & Kuniyamuthur area of Coimbatore''.
The scope of the project includes laying of sewer pipelines of 450 km, construction of RCC manholes, 30 pumping & lifting stations and providing house sewer connections to 69,500 households.
Shares of the company declined Rs 2.55, or 0.19%, to trade at Rs 1,337.05. The total volume of shares traded was 74,554 at the BSE (2.07 p.m., Tuesday).
