Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 3.66 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on July 24, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 47.89 billion and sold equities worth Rs 51.56 billion.

On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 6.68 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 31.49 billion and sold equities worth Rs 24.80 billion.

Local stock markets ended higher on Monday. Both Sensex and Nifty traded at a new life time high. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 216.98 or 0.68% at 32,245.87 with 18 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 51.15 or 0.52% at 9,966.40 with 25 components posting rise.
