US stocks close lower; Dow Jones falls over 1%

US stock markets closed sharply lower on Tuesday following the release of a batch of largely upbeat US economic data, which led to concerns about the outlook for interest rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 190.48 points or 1.04 percent to settle at 18,041.54.
While NASDAQ 100 index fell 54.20 points or 1.2 percent to close at 4,472.96. The index has seen a high of 4,521.85 and a low of 4,456.76 after opening at 4,516.63.
The broader S&P 500 index declined 21.86 points or 1.03 percent to end at 2,104.20. The index has seen a high of 2,125.34 and a low of 2,099.18 after opening at 2,125.34.
