Asian stocks open lower

   Asian stock markets are trading  lower on Wednesday. Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 12.51 points or 0.06 percent to trade at 20,424.97.

While China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 5.53 points or 0.11 percent to trade at 4,916.43.  The index has registered a high of 4,958.16 and a low of 4,857.06 after opening at 4,932.85 (10:29pm EDT).

Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 156.69 points or 0.55 percent to trade at 28,093.17. The index has recorded a high of 28,214.66 and a low of 28,034.97 after opening at 28,214.66 (10:26pm EDT).

Singapore's Straits Times declined 36.91 points or 1.07 percent to trade at 3,423.07. The index has registered a high of 3,438.19 and a low of 3,417.76 after opening at 3,434.80 (10:24pm EDT).

South Korea's KOSPI fell 39.13 points or 1.83 percent to trade at 2,104.37.  The index has seen a high of 2,134.95 and a low of 2,103.64 after opening at 2,133.49 (10:24pm EDT).

Taiwan's TAIEX gained 9.98 points or 0.1 percent to trade at 9,679.39.  The index has registered a high of 9,689.50 and a low of 9,648.71 after opening at 9,666.89 (10:24pm EDT).
