Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 3.58% in December 2017. WPI inflation was at  3.93% in the previous month and 2.10% during the corresponding month of the previous year.

Primary articles inflation was came at 3.86% in December as compared to 5.28% in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 2.61% in December.

Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 9.16% in December as compared to 8.82% for the previous month.

Food inflation came at 4.72% in December against 4.30% in the previous month. Vegetable inflation came at 56.46% in December against 59.80% in the last month.

Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 2.21% compared to a build up rate of 3.71% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
