Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 2.60% in September 2017. WPI inflation was at 3.24% in the previous month and 1.36% during the corresponding month of the previous year.
Primary articles inflation was came at 0.15% in September as compared to 2.66% lower in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 2.72% in September compared to 2.45% in the last month.
Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 9.01% in September as compared to 9.99% for the previous month.
Food inflation came at 2.04% in September against 5.75% in the previous month. Vegetable inflation came at 15.48% in September against 44.91% lower in the last month.
Onion prices inflation came at 79.78% during the month compared with 88.46% lower in the last month. Potato inflation came at negative 46.52% in September compared with 43.82% lower in the last month.
Prices for non-food articles came at negative 2.20% in September compared with 3.60% lower in the last month.
Eggs, meat and fish inflation 5.47% in September compared with 3.93% lower in the previous month.
Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 0.97% compared to a build up rate of 3.44% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
