Wholesale Inflation accelerates to 4.43% in May 2018

Wholesale price inflation (WPI) in India stood at 4.43% for the month of May, 2018 as compared to 3.18% for the previous month and 2.26% during the corresponding month of the previous year.

Primary articles inflation was came at 3.16% in May as compared to 1.41% in the previous month. Manufactured products inflation came at 3.73% in May.

Inflation for fuel and power segment came at 11.22% in May as compared to 7.85% for the previous month.

Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 1.38% compared to a build up rate of -0.27% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
