Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), increases to 5% in June from 4.87% in the previous month. In June 2017, CPI inflation was at 1.46%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 2.91% from 3.10% in the previous month. In May 2017, CFPI inflation was at negative 2.12%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 3.18%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 8.05%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 5.67% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 7.14%. Household goods and services inflation was 5.18%.
Health segment inflation was 6.07%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 6.18%.
