Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased to 2.05% in January from 2.11% in the previous month. In January 2018, CPI inflation was at 5.07%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) negative at 2.17% from 2.65% negative in the previous month. In January 2018, CFPI inflation was at 4.70%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 2.07% negative, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up to 6.05%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 1.69% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 2.81%. Household goods and services inflation was 7.44%.
Health segment inflation was 10.07%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 4.89%.
