Consumer price inflation in India, as represented by Consumer Price Index (CPI), gained to 2.36% in July from 1.46% in the previous month. In July 2016, CPI inflation was at 6.07%.
Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) 0.29% lower from 2.12% lower in the previous month. In July 2016, CFPI inflation was at 8.35%.
Food and beverages price inflation stood at 0.43%, while prices of pan, tobacco and intoxicants went up 6.39%.
Clothing and footwear price inflation has recorded a rise of 4.22% in prices.
Fuel and light inflation has seen increase of 4.86%. Household goods and services inflation was 3.94%.
Health segment inflation was 4.02%. Transport and communication gained in inflation of 1.76%.
Education segment recorded inflation of 4.39%. Personal care and effects segment inflation was 3.43%.
