TVS Motor Company registered a sales growth of 10% increasing from 282,007 units in May 2017 to 309,865 units in the month of May 2018. Two-wheeler exports growth was robust at 49% and three-wheeler growth was at 78%. There was a onetime impact due to transition to E-Way Bill. This will normalise from June onwards.
Total two-wheelers registered growth of 8.2% with sales increasing from 275,426 units in May 2017 to 298,135 units in May 2018. Domestic two-wheelers recorded growth of 2.4% with sales increasing from 240,527 units in May 2017 to 246,231 units in May 2018.
Scooter sales of the company grew by 11.9% from 85,681 units in May 2017 to 95,879 units in May 2018. Motorcycles sales grew by 7.4% with sales increasing from 118,014 units in May 2017 to 126,711 units in May 2018.
The company's total exports grew by 53.2% from 40,617 units registered in the month of May 2017 to 62,218 units in May 2018. Two-wheeler exports grew by 48.7% increasing from 34,899 units in May 2017 to 51,904 units in May 2018.
Three-wheeler of the Company grew by 78.2% increasing from 6,581 units in May 2017 to 11,730 units registered in May 2018.
Shares of the company declined Rs 7.8, or 1.31%, to trade at Rs 587.90. The total volume of shares traded was 21,700 at the BSE (10.28 a.m., Monday).
