NTPC announced that 1st unit of 660 MW of Meja Thermal Power Project (2x660 MW) of Meja Urja Nigam (a JV company of NTPC) has been commissioned on 31 March 2018. With this, the total commissioned capacity of NTPC group has become 53651 MW.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till Mar. 28, 2018, rising 3.95% compared with the Sensex's 3.56% decline.  It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 3.44% as against 2.60% fall in the Sensex.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.3, or 0.77%, to trade at  Rs 168.40.  The total volume of shares traded  was  17,685 at the BSE (11.24 a.m., Monday).
