Maruti Suzuki India, India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer, reported 0.5 per cent decrease in total sales at 162,290 units in September against 163,071 units in the year-ago month.
The company said, ''Domestic sales stood at 153,550 units, up 1.4 per cent from 151,400 units in September last year.''
The company's exports were down 25.1 per cent to 8,740 units as compared with 11,671 units in the same period last year.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 41.15% to 513,325 compared with 22-day average volume of 872,256.
Shares of the company declined Rs 25.55, or 0.35%, to trade at Rs 7,325.00. The total volume of shares traded was 36,484 at the BSE (11.37 a.m., Monday).
