Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 27% in sales in August 2018. The company sold 17,386 units as against 13,637 units sold in the same period of last year.
Ashok Leyland experienced a robust growth of 24% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicles products segment to 13,158 units in August 2018, the company said.
The company's large commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a rise of 38% to 4,228 units.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 66.19% to 8,757,296 compared with 22-day average volume of 25,903,823.
Shares of the company gained Rs 5.15, or 3.98%, to trade at Rs 134.40. The total volume of shares traded was 473,091 at the BSE (9.40 a.m., Monday).
