Power Grid Corporation Of India announced a substantial rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2016. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 32.91% to Rs 18,017.70 million from Rs 13,556.40 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 30.49% to Rs 61,198.60 million, compared with Rs 46,899 million for the prior year period.
Operating margin for the quarter stood at 88.56 percent as compared to 88.16 percent for the previous year period. Operating Income for the quarter was Rs 54,196.40 million, compared with Rs 41345.4 million in the previous year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 3.44, registering 32.82% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 3.15, or 1.77%, to trade at Rs 181.05. The total volume of shares traded was 502,526 at the BSE (2.04 p.m., Tuesday).
