As per rabi crops sowing data released by directorate of economics and statistics area coverage under rabi crops has gone up to 18.43 million hectare whereas last week it was at 8.01 million hectare.

While area under wheat has been shown as 4.28 million hectare as against 5.25 million hectare last year, area under rapeseed & mustard has recorded an increase which is 4.88 million hectare as compared to 4.70 million hectare last year.

Area coverage of gram is 4.09 million hectare as against 5.30 million last year. Area coverage of total pulses is 5.87 million hectare as against 7.08 million hectare last year.
