Tata Steel witnessed a rise in share price on Wednesday after the company swung to a profit for the quarter ended December 2016. During the quarter, the company reported a profit of Rs 2,319.00 million compared with a loss of Rs 27,477.20 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 14.07% to Rs 293,916 million, compared with Rs 257,669 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Tata Steel are trading at Rs 478.40, up Rs 5.15, or 1.09% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 10:12 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 487.00 and low of Rs 476.40. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 562,056.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 17.34% to 5,102,814 compared with 22-day average volume of 6,173,198.
