Power Grid Corporation of India, a leading power transmission company in India, witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after the company announced a substantial rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2016. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 32.01% to Rs 18,720 million from Rs 14,180.30 million in the same quarter previous year.
Revenues for the quarter rose 29.86% to Rs 64,802 million, compared with Rs 49,901 million for the prior year period.
Shares of Power Grid Corporation Of India are trading at Rs 184.35, up Rs 3.9, or 2.16% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 10:01 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 184.70 and low of Rs 181.25. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 120,608.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 28.84% to 2,343,790 compared with 22-day average volume of 3,293,725.
