Blue Star Infotech, an IT consulting firm, disclosed a steady growth in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 10.62% to Rs 46.67 million from Rs 42.19 million in the same quarter last year.

Net sales for the quarter declined 11.63% to Rs 696.40 million, compared with Rs 788.04 million for the prior year period.

Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 4.15, registering 9.21% growth over previous year period.

Sunil Bhatia, CEO &MD, Blue Star Infotech, said ''This year has been strategically significant for BSIL.  We streamlined our services, increased our focus towards key customers, further re-aligned our sales, delivery & operations and phased out some un-remunerative businesses. This change in focus has led to remarkable surge in our profits, although our topline remained flat. FY 2014-15 has been a year of consolidation and while we won quite a few new accounts, we made significant inroads into our existing strategic accounts, which will lead the foundation for our future growth.''

Shares of the company declined Rs 0.2, or 0.11%, to trade at Rs 174.80. The total volume of shares traded was 3,659 at the BSE (1.56 p.m., Friday).
