NMDC, the single largest producer of iron ore in the country, commissioned its new project, Bailadila Iron Ore Deposit 11B located in Bailadila region in Chhattisgarh yesterday, Mar. 29, 2015.

NMDC takes pride in announcing that it has developed this project having iron ore production capacity of 7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) with an investment of more than Rs 6 billion.

Narendra Kothari, CMD, NMDC after inaugurating this project said, ''This is one of the milestones in fulfilling NMDC's dream to produce more than 100 million tonnes of iron ore and help in achieving the nation's target of producing 300 rnillion tonnes of steel.''

Shares of the company gained Rs 3.15, or 2.51%, to trade at Rs 128.45. The total volume of shares traded was 120,461 at the BSE (3.02 p.m., Monday).
