Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), a passenger, commercial and utility vehicles maker, today announced a drop of 3% in its domestic auto sales at 32,122 units during August 2015 as against 33,150 units in the same period last year.
The passenger vehicles segment sales declined 7% to 14,198 units in Aug'15 as against 15,321 units during Aug'14.
The medium and heavy commercial vehicles segment sales grew 21% to 341 units in August 2015 from 282 units in the same period last year.
Exports for July 2015 stood at 3,512 units registering a growth of 73%.
Speaking on the auto sales performance, Pravin Shah, president & chief executive (Automotive), M&M said, While we are currently witnessing fragmented recovery in auto sales, we are hopeful that the upcoming festive season, we will provide a much needed fillip to the auto industry."
