Bajaj Auto, one of the leading 2 and 3 wheeler makers, announced a slight increase of 1% in sales to 3,36,274 units in April compared to 3,31529 units sold in last year period. Motorcycle sales decreased by 5% from a year ago to 2,85791 units, while commercial vehicle sales were up 58% to 50,483 units.
In the month of March, the company announced slight fall of 18% in sales to 2,50,604 units in March compared to 3,04,317 units sold in last year period. Motorcycle sales also decreased by 22% from a year ago to 2,09,937 units, while commercial vehicle sales were up 21% to 40,667 units.
Shares of the company gained Rs 61.65, or 3.16%, to trade at Rs 2,011.05. The total volume of shares traded was 26,314 at the BSE (11 a.m., Monday).
