Indian markets ended marginally lower on Tuesday ahead of an emergency meeting of euro zone finance ministers in Brussels later in the day to continue talks on bailout with Greece.

At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex declined 37.07 points or 0.13% at 28,171.69 with 22 components posting drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 11.35 points or 0.13% at 8,510.80 with 33 components registering drop.

Commenting on the technical outlook, Jayant Manglik, President, Retail Distribution, Religare Securities said, ''For last three sessions, we have been witnessing noticeable interest in Midcap and Smallcap segment alongside with index majors and it’s a healthy sign ahead of earning season.

Our short term target of 8,750-8,800 zone is intact in Nifty with major cushion at 8,350. So, any decline due to profit taking or further consolidation in index can be utilized for initiating fresh long trades in private banking, finance, capital goods, IT and pharma space.''
